Fun Games for Kids, Part 2

Fun and games are an important part of growing up for children. That is why we offer the perfect place to let them burn out all that excess energy at our Grand Rapids trampoline park. We have a ninja warrior course, host kids’ birthday parties, and much more! But you can’t bring the kiddos out for a trampoline extravaganza every night! You need other fun games to fill your time. If you are running out of ideas, here is part 2 of our Fun Games for Kids series.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Parents likely have lots of good memories playing this game (and maybe a sprained ankle or two!). It is simple to play, and only requires a group of at least six or seven people. In it, everyone sits in a circle except for one person. That person goes around the circle tapping everyone’s head saying “Duck….Duck….”. When that person taps someone and says “Goose!”, the person tapped jumps up and chases them around the circle. If the tapper makes it back to their position before getting tagged, the person tapped is the new goose, and goes around tapping heads saying “Duck…duck…”.

Animal Charades

We’ve all played charades before, and this is the animal filled kid friendly version. In it, a bunch of animals are written down on pieces of paper and thrown into a hat. Everybody participating grabs an animal from the hat. When it is that person’s turn, they must silently act out the animal in front of everyone else, while their audience guesses which animal it is. This can be just a fun game, or you can set a time limit and keep score.

Musical Chairs

This classic isn’t as popular as it used to be, but there is still plenty of fun to be had! Musical chairs only requires a small group, some chairs, and a music player. Chairs are lined up back to back so that the number of chairs equals one less than the number of people playing. The game starts when the music starts, and everyone starts walking in a circle around the chairs. When the music stops, everyone scrambles to sit down in a chair. The odd man out is out of the game. Before the next round, remove one of the chairs. The game ends when there is only one person left!

Two Truths and a Lie

This is a fun friendship building game, although you may want some supervision for the younger kids. It’s often used for introductions in class settings. In it, everyone writes down two truths and a lie on paper. The group goes around to each person, who reads all three things, and must figure out which of them is the lie.

Hopefully some of these games will prove fun on those nights in. When you want to go out for some fun, though, try our Grand Rapids trampoline park. We have a ninja warrior course and plenty of other fun attractions, and also host kids’ birthday parties. Give us a call if you have any questions about our location, attractions, or events.
